FOE Action endorses Rep. Tammy Duckworth

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Friends of the Earth Action today announced its endorsement of Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth for U.S. Senate.

Friends of the Earth Action President Erich Pica issued the following statement:

Iraq war veteran Congresswoman Duckworth brings unique credibility and perspective to the fights for renewable fuel development, energy independence and clean energy job creation. She has sponsored multiple bills to remove lead toxins from our country’s water, and in 2016 she co-sponsored the Reclaim Act, which provides for the economic revitalization of defunct coal communities and restores lands and waterways to state and native Indian tribes. Duckworth co-sponsored the Stop Arctic Ocean Drilling Act of 2015 to keep fossil fuels the ground, a bill Friends of the Earth holds dearly as a member of the Keep it In the Ground movement. Friends of the Earth values Duckworth as a well-rounded and well-respected ally, and we look forward to working with her in the Senate.
