Friends of the Earth Action Issues Final Endorsements for Upcoming General Elections
WASHINGTON – Today, with two weeks until the midterm elections, Friends of the Earth Action endorsed their final slate of candidates. The organization announces these endorsements to further the fight for lawmakers that will act for communities and the climate, as well as encourage the public to join in political efforts that will uplift progressives on behalf of the environment.
Ariel Moger, Friends of the Earth Action Government and Political Affairs Manager, issued the following statement:
With so much at stake in this election, we need to maintain Democratic control of both chambers of Congress to have a chance at protecting our democracy, our planet, and basic human rights. This means re-electing environmental and social justice champions and sending up-and-coming progressive advocates to Washington, D.C. We strongly urge voters across the country to support these candidates who will put people and the planet over corporate profits.
The organization endorses the following candidates:
- Dr. Annie Andrews for South Carolina’s 1st Congressional district
- Wade Herring for Georgia’s 1st Congressional district
- Carl Marlinga for Michigan’s 10th Congressional district
- Charles Booker for U.S. Senate, Kentucky
The organization also endorses the following incumbents for their re-election:
- Mike Levin for California’s 49th Congressional district
- Grace Meng for New York’s 6th Congressional district
