Inslee’s clean energy plan shows commitment to bold action on climate change

WASHINGTON- Washington Governor and candidate for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination Jay Inslee released his 100% Clean Energy for America Plan to transition the U.S. to 100% clean electricity, vehicles and buildings. This ambitious proposal draws on Washington State’s 100% clean electricity bill, which Inslee championed and was passed last month.

Nicole Ghio, Fossil Fuels Program Manager at Friends of the Earth Action, issued the following statement in response:

Jay Inslee is a leading voice in the Democratic party calling for bold action on climate. He signed the no fossil fuel money pledge before entering the race, and he was the first candidate to petition the DNC to host a climate debate.

Inslee’s 100% Clean Energy for America Plan shows that he understands just how serious the climate crisis is and that he is committed to taking this fight to the national level. Friends of the Earth Action looks forward to his forthcoming policies on environmental justice, agriculture, a just transition and jobs, and keeping fossil fuels in the ground.
