Friends of Earth Action condemns attempted coup, calls on Congress to certify Biden’s election, impeach and remove Trump
WASHINGTON – In response to the actions today at the U.S. Capitol, Friends of the Earth Action President Erich Pica issued the following statement:
Today’s violent attempt to overthrow our democracy is the culmination of Donald Trump’s time in office.
Trump empowered and enabled this attempted coup, stoking white supremacy and encouraging domestic terrorists to storm the U.S. Capitol Building. Trump must be removed from office and prosecuted for his actions.
We call on Congress to immediately vote to certify the results of the election confirming Joe Biden as the next President of the United States and to impeach and remove Trump.
