Getting politicians to take the No Toxic Money Pledge
It’s past time for our politicians and political candidates to reject support from Duke Energy and Dominion Energy. In order to protect the health of our families, our climate and our democracy, we need leaders who refuse to fall under the toxic influence of electric monopoly money.
Along with like-minded organizations, Friends of the Earth Action is asking candidates and elected officials for North Carolina’s federal, state and local offices to pledge to not knowingly accept any contributions from Duke Energy and Dominion Energy’s PACs, executives, lobbyists or affiliates — and politicians are listening.
We cannot let Duke Energy and Dominion Energy continue to stand in the way of a transition to 100% renewable energy, wreak destruction and corrupt democracy. We need North Carolina officials to represent and protect the people — not mega-corporations.
