Environmental Groups Endorse Collin O’Mara for Delaware Governor

WASHINGTON Today, Friends of the Earth Action and the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund announced their endorsement of Collin O’Mara for Delaware governor.

O’Mara served as CEO of the National Wildlife Federation, one of the nation’s largest environmental organizations, for the past 10 years. He also served as Delaware’s secretary of national resources and environmental control under Gov. Jack Markell. O’Mara has vast experience in tackling today’s environmental challenges and a deep understanding of the interconnections between a healthy environment and the well-being of communities.

“Collin O’Mara is a bold progressive that has both the expertise and ambition to make Delaware a leader in climate action and conservation,” said Erich Pica, president of Friends of the Earth Action, “In addition to supporting a just clean energy transition and promoting environmental justice, O’Mara also has a proven track record of advancing policies that empower working families and protect vulnerable species in Delaware and beyond. Friends of the Earth Action is thrilled to endorse O’Mara and strongly urge Delaware voters to support him for governor.”

“Collin O’Mara is a true environmental champion and I couldn’t be happier to endorse him for governor,” said Kieran Suckling, president of the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, “Delaware is one of the most vulnerable states to sea-level rise, yet its current political leaders have failed to act boldly to address the climate crisis. Collin knows that all Delaware communities would benefit from urgent action to stem the climate crisis, address industrial pollution and reconcile longstanding environmental injustices. He would bring a desperately needed breath of fresh air to Delaware politics and we can’t wait to see him as the next governor.”
