Friends of the Earth Action Endorses Analilia Mejia for NJ-11
WASHINGTON — Friends of the Earth Action is endorsing Analilia Mejia for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District ahead of the June 2 primary.
Mejia is a longtime civil and labor rights advocate and bold progressive who recently won the NJ-11 Congressional seat by 20 percentage points in a special election. The first bill she introduced would raise the federal minimum wage to $25 an hour.
Mejia’s progressive platform includes free public higher education, Medicare for All, and a minimum income tax for billionaires. An environmental champion, she will work to stop the rapid AI data center buildout, improve New Jersey’s public transportation infrastructure, and hold corporate polluters accountable.
Erich Pica, President, Friends of the Earth Action, said: “At a time when environmental protections are under assault in Washington, New Jersey’s 11th District has a real opportunity to send a proven fighter to Congress. Analilia Mejia has the values, the record, and the coalition to hit the ground running. We are confident that she will stand up to Trump, hold polluters accountable, and push for the bold climate legislation this moment demands. We are proud to stand with her.”
