Elizabeth Warren exits 2020 presidential race

WASHINGTON – Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) today announced she will suspend her campaign for President of the United States.

In response, Michelle Chan, Friends of the Earth Action vice president, issued the following statement:

Friends of the Earth Action proudly supported Senator Warren during the 2020 election because she articulated a bold vision for our future. Her candidacy highlighted important progressive issues, including ending corporate corruption and economic inequality. Senator Warren’s detailed policy proposals incorporated action on climate change into every sector of our society, setting the bar for candidates in the 2020 race. Friends of the Earth Action especially appreciates Senator Warren’s decision to refuse political contributions from Big Ag.

Although she is suspending her campaign for president, we know Senator Warren will continue to fight for people and the planet. We look forward to working with her to ensure that both progressive values and progressive leaders win in November.
