Biden’s Middle Ground is Climate Denial
WASHINGTON – Former Vice President Biden is reportedly developing a climate plan that seeks to find a “middle ground” with the fossil fuel industry. Heather Zichal, a former board member of LNG exporter Cheniere Energy, is reportedly one of his climate advisors. Between 2014 and 2018, Zichal earned over $1 million in compensation from Cheniere.
Erich Pica, President of Friends of the Earth Action, issued the following statement in response:
Joe Biden’s climate moderation is a presidential disqualification. Seeking middle ground with the fossil fuel industry in 2019 is tantamount to climate denial.
Dirty energy industry people like Heather Zichal should not be advising presidential campaigns. If Biden wants to be taken seriously on climate, he must publicly distance himself from frackers like Zichal and take the No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge.
