FOE Action endorses Katie McGinty for U.S. Senate

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Friends of the Earth Action today announced its endorsement of Katie McGinty (D-Pa.) for U.S. Senate. Friends of the Earth Action President Erich Pica issued the following statement:

Friends of the Earth Action is pleased to endorse Katie McGinty for U.S. Senate. We need a leader in the Senate that recognizes the dire threat climate change poses and is willing to work with Pennsylvanians to create real solutions for our most pressing environmental problems.

Katie has been consistent and decisive in her opposition to the Trans Pacific Partnership, unlike her opponent, Pat Toomey, who has flip-flopped on the issue. Furthermore, Katie has been an outspoken advocate for getting Dark Money and Big Money out of politics. In contrast, Toomey’s campaign is largely funded by Wall Street, major energy corporations, and the Koch brothers. While we disagree with Katie’s position on fracking, Katie will be a superior senator and champion for a healthy and just world than her opponent.

We stand with Katie, and urge Pennsylvanians to do so as well.
