Friends of the Earth Action Reacts to Trump Win

WASHINGTON – Today, Donald Trump won the votes needed to become the next President of the United States.

Erich Pica, President of Friends of the Earth Action, issued the following statement:

A Trump presidency is a momentous loss for our planet, our communities and our democracy. This somber moment in American history means we must be more vigilant and steadfast than ever in defending our environmental protections.

From day one, Friends of the Earth Action will do everything possible to fight against Trump’s long list of environmental rollbacks, dangerous Project 2025 agenda, and unrelenting attacks on democracy and basic human rights. We will continue our fight in the Halls of Congress and against the Trump Administration to defend the bedrock environmental laws that protect our air, water and cherished places.

We will fight in corporate board rooms to force companies to recognize that the environmental bottom-line is good for their consumers and their business. We will work with leaders and activists at the state and regional level to do what DC will not be able to accomplish and ensure greater protections for our health and environment.

Friends of the Earth Action will not waver in our commitment and enlist Americans to join us in fighting for the healthy and just world we all deserve.
