WASHINGTON, D.C. – Friends of the Earth Action today endorsed Scott Wallace (D-Pa.) to be the Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional district.

“We need Scott Wallace in the House of Representatives if we are going to resist Donald Trump’s attacks on public health and the environment,” said Erich Pica, President of Friends of the Earth Action.  For decades, Wallace has demonstrated his commitment to social justice and he will be an important leader.”

“This election serves as an important opportunity not only to stop Trump’s corruption and cronyism but to build a positive vision for the country we need America to be,” said Pica. “By putting Americans first and rejecting fossil fuel money, Wallace has made it clear that he will work for the people of Pennsylvania.”

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Friends of the Earth, an organization whose values I am proud to share,” said Scott Wallace. “In Congress, I am committed to putting forth an agenda that cleans up our planet and cleans up the corrupting influence of corporate money in politics.”

For the last two decades, Scott has run the Wallace Global Fund, a charitable foundation working to empower women, fight climate change and create the clean energy jobs of the future with his wife Christy. Their work has taken them throughout America and around the world, testing solutions and learning lessons to help empower everyday working people and ensure a sustainable future for their children.
