FOE Action endorses London Breed for San Francisco Supervisor, District 5

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Friends of the Earth Action today announced its endorsement of London Breed for reelection as San Francisco Supervisor for District 5.

Friends of the Earth Action President Erich Pica issued the following statement:

Many critical environmental battles will be won on local levels, this election cycle, which is why Friends of the Earth Action is endorsing London Breed for San Francisco City Supervisor-District 5. Having served as Supervisor since 2013 (and now Board President), Breed brings a unique blend of life-long San Francisco community knowledge and commitment, as well as progressive policies on reducing and removing pollutants city-wide, and transitioning to clean energy. In particular, Breed spearheaded and passed the “toughest anti-Styrofoam” law in the country and helped launched CleanPowerSF, which is providing electricity to more than 7,800 residences and businesses using wind turbines and is projected to cut 941,000 tons of CO2 per year. Friends of the Earth Action is grateful to have London Breed as a climate change and environmental issues ally. We are pleased to endorse her for re-election to Supervisor.
