WASHINGTON, D.C. — Here is a response from Erich Pica, president of Friends of the Earth Action, to the failure of President Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney to address climate change during the first presidential debate:

“President Obama and Gov. Romney’s failure to talk to the American public about climate change during the debate is striking.  It is impossible to talk about the economy, healthcare, or the role of government without talking about climate change. Their climate silence continues.”

Friends of the Earth Action is a co-sponsor, with Forecast the Future, of Climatesilence.org, a campaign to urge the candidates to speak out on climate change, the most serious threat to America’s economy and way of life.
